In it she claims that fat shaming and weight stigma aren't real, even though they are. In fact, there's a whole week dedicated to their awareness. Next week is meant to bring attention to weight stigma and it's effects. Although fat shamers THINK it's an effective way to get individuals to lose weight, IT IS NOT. Fat shaming is a form of bullying. It hurts body image and increases the risk of developing eating disorders. Plus, it can create a vicious cycle of emotional eating and further weight gain.
